Shipping policy
At House of Caked India, we take pride in delivering our premium bakes in pristine condition. Unlike standard courier services, we operate a specialized Refrigerated Cold-Chain Logistics Network from our studio in Nabha to the Chandigarh Tricity area. This ensures your cake arrives fresh, structurally intact, and at the perfect temperature.
Please read our delivery terms carefully before placing an order.
1. Delivery Areas & Zones
We currently deliver to the following regions via our temperature-controlled vans:
Zone A (Core Tricity): Chandigarh (Sec 1-48), Mohali (Phase 1-11), and select central sectors.
Zone B (Extended Tricity): Panchkula, Zirakpur (VIP Rd/Ambala Rd), Mohali (Aerocity/JLPL), Manimajra.
Zone C (Fringe Areas): Kharar (Main Market/Sunny Enclave), Landran Road.
Excluded Areas: We do not offer standard website delivery to Pinjore, Dera Bassi, Rajpura, Patiala, Ludhiana, Ambala and other areas due to logistical constraints. For orders in these areas, please contact us on WhatsApp for a special charter arrangement.
2. Delivery Timings
To maintain the efficiency of our route-optimized refrigerated vans, we operate on a single daily dispatch schedule.
Standard Delivery Window: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM
No Fixed Time Slots: We cannot commit to specific delivery times (e.g., “Deliver exactly at 2 PM”). Your order will arrive anytime within the 11 AM – 8 PM window depending on the route for the day.
Tracking: You will receive an update when the van departs from our hub.
3. Order Cut-Offs & Processing
Our baking and logistics require precise planning.
Next-Day Delivery: Orders must be placed before 4:00 PM for delivery the next day.
After 4:00 PM: Orders placed after 4:00 PM will be scheduled for the day after tomorrow.
Same-Day Delivery: Not available via the website. Please check availability via WhatsApp.
4. Delivery Charges & Minimum Order Value (MOQ)
Our delivery fees cover the cost of specialized cold-chain transport, not just distance.
Delivery Fee: Calculated dynamically at checkout based on your distance from our Central Hub (Sector 35, Chandigarh). Charges range from ₹250 to ₹450.
Minimum Order Value: To ensure route viability, a minimum cart value of ₹1999 applies to all delivery orders for all dates. If your cart total is below ₹1999, you will not be able to proceed with delivery.
5. Receiving Your Order
Recipient Availability: Please ensure someone is available to receive the package between 11 AM and 8 PM. Our drivers can wait a maximum of 10 minutes at the location.
Missed Delivery: If no one is available to receive the order, the cake will be returned to our local holding point. Re-delivery will incur an additional charge of ₹300, or you may have to pick it up from our designated location.
Gate Deliveries: For high-security societies/apartments, delivery will be made to the main gate/lobby only.
6. Damages & Issues
Inspection: Please inspect your package immediately upon delivery.
Reporting: Since our products are perishable, any complaints regarding damage or quality must be reported within 1 hour of delivery with photos/videos.
Responsibility: Once delivered and accepted, House of Caked India is not responsible for damage caused by improper handling, storage (melting due to heat), or transportation by the customer.
7. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Rescheduling: Requests to change the delivery date must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery window.
Cancellations: Orders cannot be cancelled once the preparation has started (usually 24 hours prior).
