Return and refund policy

At House of Caked India, we strive to deliver perfection. However, as our products are perishable and handcrafted, we have specific guidelines regarding returns and refunds.

1. No Return Policy (Perishable Goods)
Due to the perishable nature of bakery products and strict hygiene standards, we do not accept returns under any circumstances.

Once a cake has been delivered and accepted by you (or your representative), it cannot be returned to our studio.

We do not offer refunds for “change of mind” or “taste preference” (e.g., “I found it too sweet”). Taste is subjective, and our recipes are standard.

2. Damages & Defective Items
We take full responsibility for the cake until it is handed over to you.

Inspection upon Delivery: You must inspect the cake immediately upon arrival.

Reporting Window: If you receive a damaged, smashed, or incorrect item, you must report it within 1 hour of delivery.

Proof Required: Please send a clear photo or video of the damage to our WhatsApp (+91 99970 95155) along with your Order ID.

Resolution:

Minor Damage: (e.g., a displaced decoration) We will guide you on how to fix it or offer a partial discount/store credit as a gesture of goodwill.

Major Damage: (e.g., cake collapsed/smashed) We will provide a replacement (subject to time availability) or a full refund.

3. Liability Limitations
After Delivery: Once the cake is handed over to the customer (or left at the guard gate/reception as per instruction), House of Caked India is not responsible for any damage caused by:

Improper handling (tilting the box, erratic driving).

Improper storage (leaving it out of the fridge, exposure to heat/sunlight).

mishandling by the venue staff or third-party servers.

Pickup Orders: If you or your runner (Uber/Swiggy/Porter) picks up the cake from our studio, our liability ends the moment the cake leaves our premises.

4. Cancellations
Since our cakes are made to order and require advance preparation:

More than 48 Hours Notice: Full refund (minus a 5% processing fee).

24 to 48 Hours Notice: 50% refund (in the form of Store Credit).

Less than 24 Hours Notice: No Refund. By this time, ingredients have been used and production has started.

5. Refunds Process
If a refund is approved by our team, it will be processed within 5-7 business days.

Refunds will be credited back to the original method of payment or issued as Store Credit, based on the customer’s preference.

6. Handmade Disclaimer
Every cake we make is handcrafted. While we strictly follow your design reference, slight variations in color, shape, or design placement are natural and showcase the artisanal nature of the product. These variations do not qualify as “defects.”
